At Dead Poets Co., we offer three ways to step into the process, each one built for beginners, no experience required. Just a willingness to make something with your hands.
Every workshop ends the same way. With a piece that didn’t exist before you made it.
Introduction to silversmithing
Over the course of the workshop, you’ll move through the full process of creating your own silver ring. From selecting your wire and finding your size, to cutting, annealing, shaping and soldering. Finish by adding your own marks through texture or stamping, before bringing it to a final polish.
Wax Carving
Starting with a solid wax block, you’ll carve and shape your own ring using a range of specialised tools. Add textures, engravings, or experimental forms to make it your own. Once complete, we’ll take care of the casting and polishing, delivering your finished piece to your specifications.
Ancient Art of Wax Carving & Sand Casting
Take the wax carving process further by learning how to create a sand mould and cast your piece yourself. You’ll melt and pour the metal, then refine and polish your ring to achieve your desired finish.
Both Workshops Include:
- Guidance from a skilled instructor specializing in ring-making techniques.
- A personal and intimate experience with fellow creative individuals.
- All materials, including sterling silver, and full access to professional tools and equipment.
- A relaxed, welcoming environment.
- Refreshing drinks and snacks to keep you energized throughout.
Please note: These workshops involve the use of sharp tools and open flames and are available to participants aged 18 and over.
